I stare off into the distance, letting the passing scenery wash over me. As I look out as far as my eyes will carry me, I can't help but wonder - what lies in store for me beyond the fog? What awaits me over those hills? I hardly even notice the buildings right in front of me.

A mask
For the past several years, I've had a slight obsession with hannya masks from Noh dramas. Completely disregarding the fact that the character represents jealous women, there's something sinister yet undeniably cool about the mask - the snarl, horns, angular features, and hateful eyes are badass, for lack of a better word. So when I stumbled upon a relatively inexpensive one in Kyoto, I jumped at the chance to obtain it.
Story aside, I'd much rather spend my time taking odd pictures than killing my braincells on the internet. So here ya go.

Just a little while longer.
“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.”
- Robert Louis Stevenson
It's happening again - the churning that I feel in the deepest part of my being before a trip. As I count down the days until my trip to the Southland, I can't help but look forward to the outburst of self that I will undergo as a result of this storm brewing within me. Strangely enough, it will lead to an intense calm that I feel only when I'm on the road. It is only then that I feel completely comfortable; striving to attain this state is an adventure in itself.
How's that for an excuse to travel, not that anyone actually needs one?

It goes on and on.
“Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life.”
Excuse the Kerouac. I've begun to reread On the Road.
Exploring the Golden Coast
Things I like about road trips:
The open road. blaring music. speeding down empty highways. no schedules.
beautiful sights. exploring. wandering aimlessly.
other road trippers.
oddities and curiosities along the way.
Things I don't like about road trips:
butt pains. gas money. having to pee.

Balboa Island
Going on day trips to pass the time, all in an effort to make something of my summer.

Jazzy Fridays
This is Nikki.
I've yet to find a better person to find interesting things to do with than her.
She's the one that always took me into LA way back when,
plus she's a cool person in general.
I kind of needed text to kill some space, as I just really liked these pictures of her.
